The idea behind this project was to explore design thinking techniques and to use them to design a solution for a real world-problem and develop a testable prototype to conduct usability tests. My chosen problem was looking at how unhygienic  common toothbrush holders are, specifically the way that most people just leave the head on their electric toothbrush where it doesn't have the opportunity to drain and dry properly, leading to the growth of bacteria.
After engaging with a number of design thinking techniques such as mapping, interviewing and ideation, a number of sketches were created and a prototype was made using additive manufacturing to test the solution. The small rectangle hole allows the holder to be hung on a suction hook if there isn't enough space next to the basin to store the brush
The stainless steel render is a potential final product idea which has a more refined, stylish look.
